Facebook Success Starts with Authenticity – Why Real People Win on Social Media

Social media success isn’t built on tricks – it’s built on the person behind them

Many people believe that success on social media comes from mastering algorithms, technical hacks, or marketing tricks. My experience shows something very different. What truly matters is not what you post, but who you are behind it and how you use the tools available to you.

Facebook is one of my favorite tools for growing my business—not because I use every feature aggressively, but because I use it intentionally, authentically, and with heart. In this article, I’m sharing the two guiding principles that shape my social media presence and work long term.

Success doesn’t need to be loud, pushy, or artificial. It needs to be consistent, genuine, and human.

Facebook offers countless possibilities: posting multiple photos, going live, creating virtual events, or writing on someone else’s wall so their friends see it too. These are all opportunities—but tools alone don’t create success.

I love sharing meaningful moments, such as when a new consultant joins my team, reaches a sales milestone, or earns a promotion. These aren’t promotional posts—they’re real stories about people, growth, and commitment.

My first and most important principle is authenticity. I always ask myself: What do I want people to feel and think when they visit my page?
I want them to see my faith, my love for my family, my commitment to health and wellness, and my genuine desire to walk alongside people and serve them.

That’s why I don’t only post business-related content. I follow the 70/30 rule: about 70% of my content reflects my everyday life—encouragement, Bible verses, family moments, meals I’m preparing, simple daily experiences. The remaining 30% is dedicated directly to my business.

People connect with people first—not brands.

My second key principle is fully using the tools the platform provides. Facebook Live and virtual Facebook events are two of my most powerful tools.

I love going live to show what I’m actually doing—after the gym, while making a protein shake, cooking meals, or during our 30 Days to Healthy Living program. I share my heart about this business, the charities I support, or simply host a light, fun makeup tutorial.

Live videos don’t need to be perfect. They need to be real.

I use virtual events primarily when launching new consultants. These events don’t replace in-home parties—they complement them. They allow us to reach people who don’t live locally and help new consultants gain visibility and confidence within their first 24 hours.

I also host virtual informational workshops focused on healthy living, skincare, and makeup—always aiming to educate and inspire, not pressure.

Social media is not a sprint; it’s long-term relationship building. When you show up as yourself and use the tools with intention, you don’t just gain followers—you build real connections. And that’s where true success begins.
